Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be warmly welcomed by your private driver-guide, ready to ensure a smooth start to your Tanzanian adventure. After a short briefing, you’ll be transferred to your comfortable accommodation in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax, enjoy the serene surroundings, or explore the town at your leisure. In the evening, savor a delicious dinner at your lodge or hotel and rest well, preparing for the exciting safari journey that begins the following day through Tanzania’s world-famous national parks.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Early morning after breakfast, we depart to Tarangire National Park. The Park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands and lush groundwater forest. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet!

After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head for our lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, embark on an early morning drive to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders. Formed millions of years ago after a massive volcanic eruption, the crater shelters a pristine ecosystem teeming with life. Descending into the crater, you’ll encounter vast savannahs, acacia woodlands, and shimmering lakes filled with diverse wildlife. Expect to see herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and possibly the rare black rhino. With over 500 bird species and dramatic scenery at every turn, Ngorongoro offers an unforgettable safari experience—an extraordinary meeting of wildlife, geology, and natural beauty in Tanzania’s “Eighth Wonder of the World.”

After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head for our lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Manyara to Arusha

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park you will see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains, but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.

After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head back to Arusha which marks the end of your epic adventure!
